Asahel Skinner account book, 1825-1863.

Account book kept by Asahel Skinner of Colchester, Connecticut, and later by his son, R. H. Skinner. Asahel Skinner recorded farming and blacksmithing accounts in the first portion of the volume. In the back, he recorded sales of wood, an enterprise which involved several others. He also did work at a saw mill. Skinner made a brief note about the August 1840 earthquake.
